CURRENT EVENTS

Currently ADAWA is raising money to fund  collaborative project with organizations such as Construred, Habitat para Humanidad, and ENREPCO to bring solar panels to upwards of 35 families in our region.

In April 2018 ADAWA visited two communities to teach and build tubes for wells in a communal effort to construct water wells for two more schools in the region. Currently the wells are being dug to bring water to children and their communities.

ADAWA has been working with a cultural anthropologist as an advisor, William Odum M.A., since June 2017.

In the Summer of 2017, working with this new advisor, ADAWA conducted a diagnostic investigation in 29 of the 34 different communities of the region, probing issues concerning infrastructure, water, education, health, and various other themes.

In March 2018, thanks to donations, ADAWA brought a 2500 Liter water tank to hold water during the dry season for the community of Santa Cruz Nacamiento.

HELP BRING ELECTRICTY TO A FAMILY!

Electricity can make the difference in the lives of people in our region who do not have electricity. It means lighting at night to study for school, clean and cook, and more productive time altogether. This is not to mention the safety benefits of being able to see at night in an area with venomous snakes and insects.

75$ CAN GET A SOLAR PANEL TO A FAMILY

We are currently talking to families who are interested in a deal that we have worked out with other organizations. If a third of the cost (550 Quetzales) of a 30 Watt solar panel (4 bulbs and phone charging) is covered by a family, ADAWA will cover a third, and our affiliates will pay the last third. However, we must be able to cover the cost for about 35-40 communities at least to have this deal go through.
